Baby swallows gashapon container, Bandai pays

In August 2002, a 34 month old baby had swallowed a gashapon container 40mm in diameter causing permanent physical disabilities due to brain damage caused from the lack of oxygen. So the parents went after the maker Bandai Namco for compensation.

The Kagoshima District Court has ruled on the 20th that Bandai Namco will have to pay 26,260,000 yen (US$260,000) in compensation as the gashapon container was found to be unsafe for children.

Bandai Namco had argued that the safety guidelines by the Japan Toy Association were that toys for children under 3 had to be larger than 31.8mm, but the judge ruled that the size requirements in the guidelines were not adequate in preventing accidents.

China is using a Haruhi Image rip just to Promote the Beijing Olympics....

They Ripped the Image of Haruhi, and at the same time made the image look like crap!!!

All they did was change the Undershirt design and the clothing coloring from teal to blue...
And I'm not sure, but that boy has a familiar feeling with the way he looks also....

They made Haruhi, look like crap!

IT IS UNACCEPTABLE to deface the anime goddess likeness in such ways!!

My Thoughts

My hypothesis was proven right in Code geass R2 episode 4! Hohoho. With the help of some luck, good tactics and a pinch of cunningness Lelouch managed to save the Black Knights from execution and got Rolo on his side. I really enjoyed this episode and I cant wait to see what happens next! (In the last scene Suzaku arrives at Ashford Academy in school uniform, so I guess we'll be seeing more of him from now on)

Okay, now I've got to mug for tomorrow's biology and social studies paper! T.T

This fake brother is definitely going to take Lelouch's side and form the ultimate geass combo , and all the reason in the world to ask why can be safely ignored, not just because he is considered as one of the main characters of season 2, and his name is shown the first list with lelouch, suzaku and c.c in the ending cast list, the pic follows

And why do I think he should be joining Lelouch? The reason is in the ending itself
Can you see that black wing coming out from the seemingly falling apart white one from Rolo's back, that is the indication. Watch the ending again and check the other characters, those who are on Lelouch's side, (kallen, c.c and lelouch) have black wings. And those who are Lelouch's enemies have white wings.

Well, this is just a guess so we'll just have to watch the rest of the season to see if this really happens. XD

Review

Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Laugh away is exactly what I was looking for from YUI. A complete return to her older, more down-to-earth style. The song opens with classic YUI acoustic chords and a fantastic melody. This song isn’t quite identical to her past works in that it’s very happy. Most of her previous songs had a very solemn or important message to them. This song also has an important message, but a happier one that can be conveyed in a more upbeat nature. And you know what? In the PV, she SMILES. I mean like, her mouth opens. And there’s something that resembles happiness. Recorded. On video. One of YUI’s best PVs in a long while. Not that she’s never happy, she just never seems to smile. Another thing to like/find funny about YUI. Anyway, to the actual song. There are still hints of YUI’s recent stylings (violin, electric backing guitar), but it is so absolutely refreshing all the same. The verses are pretty laid back, but definitely faster than most of her post-2nd album singles. The chorus is an explosion of joy not seen from YUI in her current era. I love the way she sings this one because of the previously unheard power she puts behind her notes. Even though I love YUI, she’s not an incredible vocalist. She’s good, but she’s not groundbreaking. And you know what? That’s okay! Even though she doesn’t have vibrato or any technique really, she manages to create great music. This song is a great example of perfect YUI composition. The verses and chorus contrast but both convey the same idea, which is hard to do for people who weren’t professionally trained to do so. I’m really impressed with this track, and I’ve already listened to it like let’s see… Ha, 157 times. . I am going to sing this every time I go to karaoke for sure. Hands down YUI’s best single of her current era. Not a question in my mind.

SINGLE REVIEW: YUI- Namidairo

This is another single I’ve long been waiting for. YUI released a live DVD about a month ago which threw off her release schedule. This single will mark the third since her last album, which means that there’s a new album coming soon. Well, I don’t want to wait any longer, YUI’s ‘Namidairo’.

I absolutely love the musical aspect of Namidairo , because it is similar to old YUI works but with a new sound. The song starts off with nothing but acoustic guitar, and only adds in violin during the intro and chorus. Whining electric guitar also makes a gentle background appearance, which adds a beautiful atmosphere to the ballad. When I first listened to this song, I thought that her vocals sounded a bit dead, but that’s disappeared by now. Her voice sounds a bit deeper, but I can still feel her emotions while singing. YUI isn’t the strongest singer in the world, but she’s a great story teller. Although she doesn’t know how to hold out her notes with vibrato, it’s obvious that she doesn’t have to. Her vocal performance is solid and engaging without all the professionalism. This song is better than YUI’s past two singles by leaps and bounds. Although I liked both previous singles, YUI’s traditional acoustic guitar style is by far my favorite, and she returns to that in this song. Her rock-vibe is fine with me, but I will always have a predilection to her older sound. I’m impressed by YUI’s ability to compose tracks with such great flow, and Namidairo is the perfect example of matching verses and chorus. This song is exactly what I was looking for, and it will be on repeat for many weeks.

I wanna be

The B-Side of this so far fantastic single is a song called I wanna be. I love the happy intro and continuation of acoustic and natural sounding instrumentation throughout the single. This song reminds me of her really old works because it features nothing but guitar and percussion. Lately YUI has been hopping on the violin train, which is fine, but I’m glad that she doesn’t need them to make a good song. Also, her English is definitely improving, finally. I wanna be doesn’t have a thick accent making it difficult to understand; in fact it sounds very native. It might just be that those words are fairly easy for a Japanese person, but either way YUI’s thankfully using correct English. Overall, this is a very pure track that doesn’t feature much of anything. But in a good way. I like the happiness aspect, and this is definitely a worthy B-Side. People have said it’s boring, but I really don’t think so. It might be void of thick and layered instruments, but it is certainly not boring. The composition is progressive, the vocals are strong, and the guitar chords are sweet. This song is just as good as the previous, and in many ways much more catchy. This song only has one flaw, which is that YUI gets pitchy sometimes, though it’s rare and not all that noticeable if you’re not searching for it.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The past few weeks have been a whole lot of fun, I have much to post about but so little time. Well, that's because I HAVEN'T GOT TIME TO DO MY HOMEWORK YET! And school reopens tomorrow! aHH!!

So let me summarize what has happened to me in the past weeks.

24th DEC- Christmas Eve
I went caroling with my church. XD Was pretty cool to see the smiles on the peoples faces when we sang the carols.(at Faber Heights and Hillbrooks )

25th DEC- Christmas DAY!
Ryan,Chun Hao, Han Zi, Rachel and I went to Edwin's(Guitar Teacher) Church -City Harvest. We had lots of fun. There was some sort of drama, and I've gotta say that it was very professional. After that, Ryan, Chun Hao, Rachel and I went to Ryan's house where Ryan let us watch some-sortta Yaoi anime. Chun Hao and I were grossed out, Rachel seemed to be enjoying the anime. After which, we went to the void deck where we were supposed to play basketball. but somehow we ended up playing monkey.

26th DEC - Guitar Lesson- and then went swimming at Jurong East swimming complex
DELWIN CAME LATE FOR LESSONS!!! RAWR!!!!111

After the lessons Aqil, Rachel, Delwin, Shaun and I went for lunch at the JE entertainment center's Long John Silver. And after which it was time for swimming~~!
Too bad Rachel had to rush off.. Anyways, swimming was fun fun fun. The slides were awesome(although the waiting time sucks), the wave pool was great(spotted a misaki-chan ~from welcome to the NHK~ look-a-like >.<)

28th DEC -NPCC NCO BBQ CUM Shaun Ng's Birthday party
In the morning all of us went to buy the stuff for the BBQ from markets all over Bukit Batok. After which we proceeded to my house to prepare the food for the BBQ.
And guess what happened when we cut opened one of the squids? WE FOUND A FISH IN IT! Woah! Next we went swimming, where we bullied 2 little kids. XD. Then it was time for the BBQ. I'd say it was a success, the amount of food was just right, food tasted not too bad, etc. Then we played billard! Everyone left at 2300hours.

29th DEC-30th DEC ~Stay at Park Royale Hotel + National Treasure movie.
My grandma works at Park Royale Hotel and cause she had to do her midnight rounds she was given an executive suite to stay for the night with family members. Buffet Dinner + Breakfast provided. ^^ THE ROOM WAS HUGE! We had 1 King Size bed ,3 Single beds, a sofa, a flat-screen LCD TV, study desk, a mini bar and there was still plenty of space. I spent most of my time there eating + swimming + trying to finish my homework (which I failed miserably at). On the 30th DEC at 16300hours Ho Sung, Eric, Chun Hao, Delwin, Rachel and I watched National Treasure: Book of Secrets. Rachel's handphone went flat. The movie was awesome! After the movie we had a hard time deciding where to have dinner and somehow we ended up at BK. We talked about lots of stuff, like how NUH sucks, how hs lost his wallet, blah blah... After that Eric, Delwin and I went to expo for some Metro sale. Eric and I bought school shoes, Delwin and I met Eric's parents for the 1st time. Reached home at 2330hours, had lots of fun. ^^ (Dad, Mum and bro went to watch Maria Shaprapova play tennis..damn! I missed it!)

31th DEC- New years eve
At night my family went to church for the watch night service where we share what has happened to us in the year and stuff like that. At the end of the service we sang Auld Lang Syne and drank ribena.(WHAT HAPPENED TO SPARKLING WINE?!?!). Had some light refreshments then went to Uncle Clarence's house for the youth gathering-countdown. There we played games like Taboo and Blitz . Soon it was countdown time, and all I could hear was the girls screaming "10,9,8,7,.....1,0". After that played some more and reached home at 0200hours(01/01/08). I was dead tired.

I HAVE THE SUZUMIYA HARUHI NO YAKUSOKU(psp game) and am addicted to the song "Kumikyoku Lucky Star Douga!" I put it on my blog so do listen to it especially if you're a lucky star and Suzumiya Haruhi fan. ^^

The last few weeks have been very hectic for me. As some might know I was in KL from the 13th-15th DEC with my family. It was pretty cool, because on one of the days I was there I stumbled upon some-sort of anime-expo that was going on. And of course I got myself a whole lot of stuff. ^^

And straight away after the KL trip was my church's youth retreat(18th-10th DEC) at Tanjong Putri JB). I had lots of fun there. I learned that cooking spaghetti with coffee tastes really bad, milo + coffee = *yum yum, guys own at taboo, and more about leadership through the study of Moses. I cant wait for next year's retreat!

Only about 7 more days 'till school reopens and I still have not finished my homework yet. (*worry worry). But oh'well, Its Christmas tomorrow so I guess I'll think about homework later. XD

Yo!

The week has been GREAT so far. On Sunday Aqil, Ryan, Rachel and I went to Chinatown for a little otaku-window shopping.(Chinatown Square Central have these flea markets every Sunday, and you can find lots of cool anime collectibles there cheap.) And it was on there where I found a LACUS DELUXE VOICE I-DOLL FIGIRUNE!! WOOTS! It was cheap, it looked great, the voices were working perfectly fine. The minute I saw it I bought it. HARHARHAR. $50 well spent.

After that we met up with Delwin and we got Han Zi some books at borders. It was epic , we saw lots of crazy stuff there. Eg. 101 Naughty games, Ecchi Manga, crazy romance novels....and lots of other wonderful stuff. *hehe Just naming a few, "What would Wonderwoman do", "Dead Girls are easy", "Changling". After which we headed to lot 1 for dinner.

And monday was 2e2'06 Chalet day. (I'm sleepy now so I shall write in point form)

4.Eric bought a huge cake which we couldn't finish no matter how hard we tried

Swiss NPCC Overseas Trip

Havnt been blogging in a long while 'coz been very busy. Was in Malacca from 29th-30th November

20th Nov post to buy or not to buy (lacus)

As some may know, I intend to purchase a Gundam Seed Destiny Lacus Clyne Voice I-Doll. It's a PVC figurine that rests on a stand which doubles as a speaker to play quotes by the character (in this case the quotes are by the Seiyū Rie Tanaka)
The problem is I cant decide whether to buy the 17cm tall standard version for $35 or the 28cm tall Deluxe version for $75. Please tag and tell me which u think is better =P. (btw if you intend to tag "neither" plz screw off thx.)

My mum's birthday. Woke up late, went for CCA. At night my dad brought the family to the Swissôtel Merchant Court for dinner. The food there was r-e-a-l-l-y good. XD. Especially desert....yum. Well anyways, I gave my mum the Haruhi figurine i bought at China Square Central and guess what? She liked it! lol. Now that's $12 well spent. ^.^

My mum took leave today to bring me to the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority to make my Identification Card. Went early at 9am so we finished in less than 15mins. After that went down to Bugis Junction to get a new phone. When we arrived the shops still weren't opened so we went to starbucks~

When the shops opened went to check out M1, Singtel and Starhub. At first my Mum said that she would sign me up for a student plan(she'll pay the monthly bills) and I'll pay for the phone. I was okay with the plan, but when I saw the prices of the phones I wanted I was like WTF-DESU!(FYI:My budget was $100 and most of the phones I wanted were way above it.). Then my mum said that if I were to wait for her contract with starhub to expire, which is in March'08, she would pay for my phone. I did some maths and found that if I were to get a phone by re-contracting my mum's line before it expires and Pay just $100(the penalty fee). It'll be a much better deal so I went for it. And guess what? Because my mum signs up for all 3 starhub services(and also because it was her birthday month), starhub decided to waiver the $100 fee! I so <3 Starhub now. lol. I chose the Nokia 5310 XpressMusic Phone(which my mum paid for) and decided to spent $68 on a 2gig microSD card instead. yay!

So yeah, I paid $68 for my phone! ^.^

After getting the phone, met up with grandma. We dropped by at kinokuniya because I wanted to get a "Learn Japanese CD". I got the Collin's Phrasebook, hope it helps. lol

At Kinokuniya I saw the cover of the 1st volume of the Haurhi Suzumiya Manga. I got my mum to buy it (saying it would improve my Chinese) but there was the label "unsuitable for the young" on it. RAWR!!

My mum was feeling generous so she bought me 2 pencil cases. XD

After lunch I met up with Aqil, Ryan, Ho Sung, Han Zi and Chun Hao. Went to Otaku stores~ at VivoCity and China Square Central. Ryan bought Shakugan no Shana chibi figurines at Vivocity and a $12 Haruhi PVC Figurine. The rest of us bought nothing. T.T I wanted to preorder the $55 Haruhi figurine for ToysNToys, BUT THE PREORDER DATELINE WAS OVER!! NOOOOOOO! At around 430pm we had tea and then it was time to go home.

We took the long route 'coz we wanted seats (1.5hour trip...). Ho Sung wanted to make a NETS card so Haniz and I followed him. But the bank was closed. (*laughs at hs) Ho Sung and I bought crystal cases for our phones at a nearby store. I kept getting the auntie to give me a new piece because I'm rather particular about scratches and stuff =P.

Went home, crystal case broke.

End of day.

Oosh!

Bought an FG(first grade) Gundam 00 model yesterday and spent two hours building it. >.<. I bought Dynames for $11. And yeah, its the picture on the left. It isnt great(lots of parts still not painted), but at least its cheap.

Tried doing the bar chords I learned today on my guitar, and now my fingers are aching. Aqil and I bought 4 posters each from comics connection today. I got 1 Suzumiya Haruhi poster, 2 Shakugan no shana posters and got 1 bleach poster free! >.< 1 for $3. Good deal eh? lol. My mom's birthday is tomorrow and I cant wait to see the expression on her face when she sees the haruhi pvc figurine i bought for her. XD.

RAAAWWRR! I WANT THIS HARUHI PVC FIGURINE! $55 at a shop in Jurong!! ahhh!!! Need cash!!

And there's the Yuki Nagato PVC figurine I've been wanting to get for ages!! But its $200++. !*&@%$(&*!@%$(!@$%!@# NEED CASH!! NUUU!

List of other things I intend
1. A new phone (as some may know by now, the one I have now is absolutely pathetic)
2. An anime poster
3. A Psp slim? (yes, yes, I already have a psp. But I need TV-out!!)
4. A 20" widescreen monitor (the one I'm using currently is covered with scratches. T.T)

Oh noes, I think I'm turning into a spendthrift. =/
